Description:
The Poro Point Residences takes its first step toward becoming a reality as site clearing activities officially commence within the Poro Point Freeport Zone (PPFZ) on June 6, 2026. The upcoming groundbreaking ceremony will signal the official start of construction for this project.
This milestone marks a significant step toward PPMC’s vision of becoming the premier destination for tourism, investment, and sustainable development in the North. It also reflects a shared commitment to building sustainable communities, enhancing the quality of life for future residents, and transforming the PPFZ into a more livable place to live, work, and thrive.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
