In accordance with the Corporate Social Responsibility program of Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC), together with the Department of Health Center for Health Development 1 (DOH-CHD 1) and the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC), PPMC spearheaded another bloodletting program last October 12, 2022, held at the San Fernando Airport.
A total of 60 volunteers from PPMC, La Union Police Provincial Office, PNP AVSEC, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine Navy (PN), Philippine Air Force (PAF), Leading Edge International Aviation Academy, Inc. (LEIAAI), and AAG International Center for Aviation Training (AICAT) participated in the blood drive activity.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
