Description:
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)- Program Health, Education/Environment, Livelihood Program, and Strengthening Linkages/Sports (HELPS) initiatives, Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) continued to support the creation of safe, clean, and conducive learning environments for students. In line with this commitment, PPMC once again extended its assistance to local schools through the donation of construction and cleaning materials for Brigada Eskwela 2026.
On June 5, 2026, three (3) schools benefited from this initiative: Pagudpud Integrated School, La Union National High School and Lingsat Integrated School.
PPMC remains committed in supporting the preparations of its neighboring schools for the opening of classes and ensuring that the students have a clean, safe and conducive learning environment.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
