March 9, 2022

AUTHOR: JGCB

Description:

In observance of International Women’s Day, Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) employees distributed tokens to “Juanas” at the Poro Point Baywalk yesterday, March 8, 2022.

PPMC celebrates “Juanas” from all walks of life as they take the center stage in standing up for their rights, challenging stereotypes, breaking barriers, and serving as pioneers of change.

This month, we recognize women’s valuable role in society and prove that inclusive and sustainable development is only possible when gender equality becomes obtainable.
Happy International Women’s Day.

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
