La Union Fairest is an annual celebration organized by the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) La Union, which features the province’s locally made products, creativity, exceptional craftsmanship, and innovations of local MSMEs, tourism partners, and industry leaders who continuously contribute to the province’s cultural pride and economic development.
As one of the event partners, PPMC is showcasing the Poro Point Freeport Zone (PPFZ) as a premier investment, trade, and tourism destination in Northern Luzon. PPMC supports initiatives such as the La Union’s Fairest that brings together public and private stakeholders to promote inclusive progress and sustainable development in the Province of La Union.

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
