Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) President and Chief Executive Officer (PCEO) Hon. Servillano C. Flores, Jr. attended the State of the Province Address (SOPA) of La Union Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega on July 28, 2026.
The 2026 SOPA centered on the theme “La Union Agkaysa,” highlighting how unity, collaboration, and partnership drive sustainable growth across the province. Governor Ortega emphasized the provincial government’s key accomplishments, ongoing initiatives and future development plans aimed at improving the quality of life of every resident in La Union.
PPMC stands with the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) in realizing the shared vision of sustainable economic development and enhanced opportunities for the people of La Union. PPMC remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote a more progressive and thriving region.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
