November 25, 2025

AUTHOR: JGCB

Description:

Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) joins and supports the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) in the observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) from November 25 to December 12, 2025. With the recurring theme, “UNITEd for a VAW-Free Philippines,” the campaign reflects the continued commitment from 2022-2027.

In line with Proclamation No. 1172 (s. of 2006) and Republic Act No. 10398, PPMC observes the annual campaign marking November 25 as the National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Children.

PPMC stands in solidarity with this nationwide initiative and reaffirms its commitment in promoting respect, safety, and a community free from violence for women and all.

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
