PPMC JOINS THE CALL FOR A CLEANER ENVIRONMENT

September 21, 2026

AUTHOR: Jucutan Clarisse Joy

Description:

The Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) actively participated in the coastal clean-up activity organized by the City Government of San Fernando, La Union, on September 19, 2026, at the Poro Point Baywalk.
The activity was held to celebrate National Cleanup Month and the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), pursuant to Proclamation Nos. 470 and 244, respectively.
PPMC continues to support initiatives that promote environmental responsibility, contributing to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Poro Point Freeport Zone (PPFZ) for its stakeholders and neighboring communities.

Poro Point Management Corporation

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
