PPMC Joins Taray ti Namnama: Run for a Cause in San Fernando, La Union.

Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) participated in the Taray ti Namnama: Run for a Cause held on February 10, 2024. A total of 50 individuals from PPMC, partners from neighboring barangays, and members of the Special Operation Unit at San Fernando Airport, attended the said event. The fun run aimed to raise funds for the Market Vendors of San Fernando, La Union, who had been affected by a fire last January 11, 2024.

The Run for a Cause was an initiative of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of the City Government of San Fernando, La Union, and served as a meaningful initiative to support those in need. As part of PPMC’s Corporate Social Responsibility endeavors, the corporation prioritizes community engagement and support. By participating in events like the Run for a Cause, PPMC underscores its commitment to being an active contributor to the welfare and betterment of the local community.

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
