Description:

The 585th Air Base Group (ABG) celebrated its 10th Founding Anniversary through a coastal clean-up drive held today, September 18, 2026 at the Poro Point Baywalk. Representatives from Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) joined the activity in support of this initiative.
The activity brings together personnel and volunteers in promoting environmental awareness and maintaining the cleanliness of the coastal area, supporting efforts to preserve the beauty and environmental value of Poro Point.
PPMC remains committed to strengthening partnerships with stakeholders and supporting initiatives that promote environmental stewardship, community involvement, and a cleaner and more sustainable Poro Point Freeport Zone (PPFZ).

Poro Point Management Corporation

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
