Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) thru its Corporate Social Responsibility Program – Health, Education/Environment, Livelihood Program, and Strengthening Linkages/Sports (HELPS), and in partnership with the San Fernando City Health Office and the Philippine Air Force, spearheaded a medical and dental mission last June 30, 2022, at the Barangay Hall of Brgy. San Agustin.
A total of 52 residents from Barangays San Agustin and Poro attended the said activity and received medical and dental check-ups, free vitamins, medicines, and tooth extractions.
PPMC is very thankful that the San Fernando City Health Office and the Philippine Air Force have helped the medical and dental conditions of the said affected barangays.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
