PPMC conducts Fire and Earthquake drills for AICAT

Poro Point Management Corporation’s (PPMC) Crash, Fire & Rescue (CFR) and Environmental Management and Health Services (EMHS) Teams held a Fire and Earthquake drill for the AAG International Center for Aviation Training (AICAT) on March 17, 2025. In partnership with AICAT, this training initiative is part of their safety program, demonstrating a shared commitment to maintaining the highest safety standard for all personnel.

The training participated by 35 individuals, including employees, cadets, and partners, covered key elements such as basic aerodrome firefighting, the proper use of fire extinguishers, and earthquake awareness and drills. The collaboration between PPMC and AICAT aims to continue to improve emergency response skills while also ensuring the overall safety and preparedness of the aviation training facility.

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
