Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) spearheaded a medical and dental mission yesterday, July 7, 2022, at the Barangay Hall in Barangay Canaoay.
This is in line with PPMC’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program – Health, Education/Environment, Livelihood Program, and Strengthening Linkages/Sports (HELPS). With the help and in partnership with the 585th Air Base Group of the Philippine Air Force, a total of 65 residents from the said barangay attended the activities and received medical and dental check-ups, free vitamins, medicines, and tooth extractions.
PPMC is grateful to the men and women of the Wallace Air Station Medical Infirmary and Wallace Air Station Dental Dispensary of the 585th Air Base Group for their assistance in improving the medical and dental conditions of the aforementioned impacted barangay.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
