AUTHOR: JGCB

Description:

Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program—Health, Education, Environment, Livelihood, and Strengthening Linkages through Sports (HELPS), planted a total of 400 bougainvillea plants within the Poro Point Freeport Zone, including the San Fernando Airport, Poro Point Baywalk, and the PPMC Administration Office Area on December 5, 2025.

This initiative is part of PPMC’s continuing efforts to promote environmental stewardship, enhance public spaces, and contribute to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Poro Point Freeport Zone.

PPMC remains committed to environmental protection, sustainability, and long-term ecological resilience for our community.

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
