NEW BREWING SPOT: THE COFFEE LIBRARY OPENS IN SM CITY LA UNION

Fresh brews, warm connections, and new beginnings as The Coffee Library (TCL) opened in SM City La Union on May 22, 2026.

The grand opening was attended by distinguished guests led by La Union Governor Hon. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega; Poro Point Management Corporation President & CEO Hon. Servillano C. Flores, Jr.; Rosario, La Union Councilor Hon. Florante Zarate; and Rosario, La Union Vice Mayor Hon. Bellarmino Flores III, who joined the celebration in support of the province’s growing business and tourism sector.

The blessing ceremony was officiated by Fr. Raul Panay, marking the beginning of another welcoming space where people can gather, connect, and create memories over coffee.

As the Province of La Union continues to develop as a premier destination for tourism in Northern Luzon, establishments such as TCL significantly enrich its local community.

 

Poro Point Management Corporation

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
