Yesterday, May 22, 2023, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service Resident Agency (NCISRA) of the United States, represented by USA Assistant Attaché, Mr. Lyndon A. Ilasin, visited the Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) for a conference and a site visit. Welcoming him are PPMC’s President, CEO and OIC Chairman of the Board, Atty. Felix S. Racadio; Director and VP for Regulatory Services, Mr. Joel G. Caringal; VP for Airport Management, Ms. Josefa Catherine T. Bada; VP for Infrastructure Management, Engr. Cerila A. Corpuz; and Business Manager, Ms. Eliza M. Maconocido.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
