Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC), in collaboration with the Ilocos Training Regional and Medical Center—National Voluntary Blood Services Program (ITRMC-NVBSP), organized a blood donation drive on November 22, 2024, at the San Fernando Airport.
The event was participated by 70 volunteers from various organizations, including PPMC employees with PPMC Director Nicky Oller, Philippine Air Force (PAF), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), PNP Aviation Security (PNP AVSEC), Leading Edge International Aviation Academy, Inc. (LEIAAI), AAG International Center for Aviation Training (AICAT), La Union Prime Eagles Club (LUPEC), and McKleene Premium Products, Inc.
PPMC is grateful to all participants and partner agencies for their contribution. PPMC remains dedicated to supporting community health initiatives through its corporate social responsibility programs.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
