As part of the celebration of National Women’s Month 2026, Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC), together with OJT students from the University of Abra, conducted its culminating activity on March 30, 2026.
PPMC employees participated in a Zumba session to promote health and wellness, followed by a token-giving activity at the Poro Point Baywalk for “Juanas” in recognition of their roles and contributions to the community.
PPMC remains committed to implementing inclusive and sustainable initiatives aligned with national programs as well as supporting women’s empowerment and gender equality.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
