The Iglesia Ni Cristo, Ecclesiastical District of La Union, (INC) spearheaded a coastal clean-up and green initiative at the Poro Point Baywalk last March 24, 2024. A total of 750 individuals joined forces, engaging in grass-cutting and clearing activities as part of the INC’s green endeavor.
The INC Giving Project exemplifies the impact of simple acts of kindness on individuals, families, and communities. It reflects its earnest desire to make positive contributions to the local community.

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
