Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) welcomed John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) President and Chief Executive Officer Manjit Singh Reandi for a productive visit on October 30, 2025.
The meeting fostered meaningful discussions on sustainable management, community involvement, and operational initiatives that contribute to the inclusive growth of each ecozone.
After the PPMC visit, PPMC OIC PCEO Servillano C. Flores, Jr., and JHMC PCEO Singh Reandi also paid a courtesy call to La Union Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortego to continue exploring opportunities for collaboration and regional development.
PPMC extends its appreciation to JHMC for this sharing of best practices initiative in support of its shared commitment to advancing the development of Poro Point Freeport Zone and John Hay Special Economic Zone.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
