PPMC, led by Chairman of the Board Hon. Nicky Oller, held a public consultation on January 19, 2026, at the Pre-Departure Area of San Fernando Airport to discuss the proposed No Smoking and Responsible Pet Ownership Policy.
The session aimed to provide all Poro Point Freeport Zone (PPFZ) registered enterprises and locators the opportunity to review the proposed policies, raise concerns, and offer recommendations prior to its finalization and implementation. This initiative reflects PPMC’s commitment to transparency, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative policy-making.
Through open dialogue and active participation, PPMC continues to work toward fostering a safe, healthy, and well-regulated environment within the PPFZ.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
