The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) La Union Provincial Office-Region 1 administered a physical fitness test (PFT) to its personnel as a means of monitoring and assessing their health, as well as sustaining their physical strengths and abilities with the necessary skills to carry out the bureau’s mission.
The said activity was held at the Poro Point Baywalk on November 28, 2022, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a total of 367 participants.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
