The Provincial Government of La Union thru its Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO), organized an Earth Day Run at the picturesque Poro Point Baywalk on April 20, 2024, running from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. This event, themed “Planet vs Plastics,” aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues, particularly the detrimental effects of plastic pollution. A total of 70 participants joined in the run, including members from the Sangguniang Kabataan ng La Union and the Lupon ng mga Indibidwal na Nangangalaga ng Kalikasan, INC (LINK) of La Union, demonstrating their dedication to environmental stewardship. The Department of Health Center for Health Development – I thru the National Voluntary Blood Services Program (NVBSP), held a Color Fun Run dubbed as: “Color Fun Run: Ready, Set, Du-Go,” last July 22, 2023, at the Poro Point Baywalk. The said event was attended by 500 participants from different government and private agencies.
Further, in celebration of National Blood Donors’ Month this July 2023 with the theme: “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often,” the color fun run activity likewise aims to reach a wider scope of public awareness on the importance of voluntary blood donation.

The Office of Civil Defense Regional Office 1, in partnership with the Provincial Government of La Union, held a Fun Run named: “Run for Resilience” in celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month. The kick-off ceremony was held last July 1, 2023, at the Poro Point Baywalk.
