The charity event, attended by 79 individuals, aimed to raise financial assistance for batch members facing economic challenges.
Dubbed “Faculty Day Run for a Cause Race for Recovery,” the event aimed to not only unify the faculty members and DMMMSU management in fostering peace, harmony, and a healthy working environment but also to promote socio-economic welfare, especially to teaching personnel who need financial assistance brought on by severe medical illnesses.
Dubbed as “Soar Higher, Run Together,” the event was attended by 83 individuals, including students and guests. The fun run is one of the initiatives of the Supreme Student Council Officers of the Aviation Maintenance Technology School (AMTS) aimed to promote fitness and community engagement among fellow students, comrades, and other enthusiasts.
The Bureau of Fire Protection La Union Provincial Office—Region 1 successfully held a Fun Run at the Poro Point Baywalk on March 15, 2025.
As part of the Fire Prevention Month Celebration, the event, dubbed as LUnited Fun Run 2025, was participated by 312 individuals. The fun run is one of the initiatives of the organization to increase the participation of the public in recreational activities, promote a healthy lifestyle, and boost public awareness about fire safety.
The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) Christian Family Organization held a Family Fun Run at the Poro Point Baywalk on February 22, 2025. The said event was attended by 153 participants.
The event’s project aimed to focus on spiritual development and physical wellness, reinforcing INC’s commitment to the principles and growth of its members. It highlighted the successful implementation of community-driven health programs within the Ecclesiastical District of La Union.

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
