Description:
As part of its ongoing commitment to assisting communities due to the effects of Typhoon Emong San Fernando, La Union, PPMC distributed a total of 1,000 sacks of rice to the five impacted barangays of Canaoay, San Francisco, San Vicente, San Agustin, and Poro on July 31 and August 1, 2025.
The relief effort provided immediate food assistance to the residents recovering from the impacts of the typhoon. This project demonstrates PPMC’s continued dedication to assisting communities during times of crisis and confirms its position as a reliable partner in disaster response and community resilience.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
