Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) received recognition during the National Blood Donor’s Month Awarding Ceremony on August 19, 2024, at the Convention Center, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center National Voluntary Blood Services Program (ITRMC-NVBSP) organized the “Celebrating 20 Years of Giving: Thank You Blood Donors” event to recognize the contributions and support of various local government units and private partners in Region 1 for the blood donation campaign.
PPMC is committed to supporting blood donation initiatives. PPMC supports blood drives and campaigns, ensuring that its employees and other stakeholders donate blood regularly, and promotes awareness in blood donation campaigns in the community. These underline PPMC’s dedication to promoting sustainable healthcare and life-enhancing initiatives.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
