The Provincial Government of La Union thru its Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO), organized an Earth Day Run at the picturesque Poro Point Baywalk on April 20, 2024, running from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. This event, themed “Planet vs Plastics,” aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues, particularly the detrimental effects of plastic pollution. A total of 70 participants joined in the run, including members from the Sangguniang Kabataan ng La Union and the Lupon ng mga Indibidwal na Nangangalaga ng Kalikasan, INC (LINK) of La Union, demonstrating their dedication to environmental stewardship. Their active involvement underscores the importance of collective action in preserving our planet and serves as an inspiration for others in the community to adopt environmentally friendly practices.
