Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) joins in the observance and celebration of the 2021 National Women’s Month this March with its theme, “Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya!”
PPMC salutes all extraordinary roles of every “Juanas” in the society as trailblazers and harbingers of change. This month, we recognize the empowerment of women as active contributors to national development by participating in the call for concrete, sustainable and inclusive actions towards gender equality.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
