Description:
Poro Point Management Corporation’s (PPMC) locator, Adeline’s Food and Beverage, has been upgraded and now features the Province of La Union’s products through its PASALUBONG HUB. The hub was launched last September 24, 2022, and was graced by Governor Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Director Joseph Francisco “Jeff” R. Ortega, and other tourism officers.
The La Union Pasalubong Hub by Mimosa houses the best of the province’s quality products such as souvenir items, processed food, inabel, and many other products. It aims to boost the production of local products and continue to support micro, small, and medium enterprises as it aims to cater not only to the general market of local buyers but also to local and international tourists, as well as to promote the Poro Point Baywalk to increase visitors in the area.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
