Description:

In celebration of Poro Point Management Corporation’s (PPMC) 20th founding anniversary, PPMC spearheaded a “Love Mother Earth Coastal Clean-up Drive and Beautification Program” at the Poro Point Freeport Zone last March 7, 2023. A total of 28 gallons of paint was donated by Pacific Paint (Boysen) which was used for the beautification drive. Joining PPMC employees were volunteers from PPMC, 585th Air Base Group, and 508th Aircraft Control and Warning Wing of the Philippine Air Force, Poro Marine Protected Area Project Management Council (PMPA), and the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP AVSEC), who attended the said activity.
During the activity, PPMC’s Director Nicky Oller, as one of the early birds, fortunately, met Mr. and Mrs. Nisperos from Bauang, La Union. The couple, who is said to have regular brisk walks at the Poro Point Baywalk, also waters the plants regularly since October 2022. PPMC is very grateful to have caring citizens like them.

Poro Point Management Corporation

The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
