The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Regional Office 1 conducted its Annual Physical Agility Test (PAT) for its personnel at the Poro Point Bayawlk earlier today, April 27, 2023. The PAT aims to maintain its personnel’s physical strengths and abilities with the essential skills to carry out the bureau’s mission. The said activity was held from 530 a.m. to 8 a.m. with a total of 90 participants.
The Poro Point Freeport Zone used to house the former Wallace Air Station. The enactment of Republic Act 7227 (Bases Conversion and Development Act) on March 19, 1992 and Proclamation No. 216 on July 27, 1993 effectively transferred the stewardship of the Freeport to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center.
